Greetings all.

Rather than continuing to blast my ill-considered rants and raves out into the e'mail inboxes of those who are unfortunate enough to be my freinds, I've decided to post them here for quick & convenient one-stop haranguing.

Unlike the urbane, genteel freind who first demonstrated the wonder of blogging to me, I do not pledge to avoid politics. There's too much going on out there in the world for me to make such a pledge.

Who am I? I am a librarian, a reader, a model railroader, and a ferroequinologist. I'm the kind of libertarian who's as suspicious of domineering corporations as he is of domineering political parties. I live in the frozen northlands of upper Michigan, and, as the astute may have already surmised, I'm a fan of the works of J.R.R Tolkien. Despite some of the editorial liberties which Peter Jackson has taken with the story, I am looking forward with great anticipation to the release of the final volume of his cinematic adaptations.

On occasion, I also enjoy being a Man of Mystery.

The criteria for comment on this page is quite simply whatever attracts my attention on any given day. Feel free to join the brawl (as soon as I figure out how to add a comments feature.)
