Recent not-quite-reads

Dreams of the Compass Rose, by Vera Nazarian. A collection of short stories, some of them linked, mostly set in a fantastical, mystical desert reminiscent of certain of Dunsany's short stories. Unfortunately, they did not prove to be captivating enough to pull me away from the other 100+ books waiting to be read.
