Maybe the "Estimated cost to update building for intended use: $350,000 - $500,000" just isn't enticing enough?

Depends what you want to use it for, I guess. Just about any purpose would be better than the current owner's apparent plan to let it deteriorate indefinitely. Some folks on an upper-peninsula mailing list have reported that it may be in worse shape than the "current" photo on eBay would suggest.
